The fiber optic plowing in Kenmare is complete and RTC is ready to cutover services to run on the new fiber. RTC has hired MasComm, a division of Master Construction, to complete the cutovers. Throughout the next few months MasComm will be going door-to-door in the Kenmare area to hook up the fiber to customers. At that time they will need to enter customers' homes and businesses to ensure their services are working properly. If customers are not home when MasComm stops, they will come back another time.
Once the services are running on fiber, customers will continue to enjoy the same great RTC voice, data, and video services that they have in the past. Fiber optic technology has many benefits. Fiber requires less maintenance than copper cable and it offers the possibility of higher internet speeds and new TV services, which RTC is currently evaluating. Watch the Dial Tone newsletter and www.RTC.coop for more information on new services in the future.
